Did you know that Endocannabinoids can boost brain plasticity, including learning and memory. And no, I'm not talking about Marijuana!

Neuroscientist researchers discovered that high-intensity bike pedaling for 15 minutes created a surge of something called, Anandamide, which is an endocannabinoid that is associated with runner's high. They discovered that this also promotes plasticity in the hippocampus area of the brain. A systemic review from August of 2020, concluded that a "single moderate-to-vigorous physical activity boosts learning, memory, attention and concentration for up to 2 hours immediately after a workout" as well as, "these findings demonstrate that acute physical exercise promotes sequence learning, thus attesting to the overarching benefit of exercise to hippocampus-related memory functions."

The researchers conclude that any type of moderate to vigorous physical activity has a positive effect on learning and memory!
